KleinLife Receives PHL COVID-19 Fund Grant

“What makes me most proud of our services is our ability to balance our seniors’ physical needs with their comfort in this trying time. With support from the PHL COVID-19 Fund, we’ll be able to continue to do what we do best.” -Andre Krug, CEO of KleinLife

PHL COVID-19 has announced KleinLife as an official $50K grant recipient. With these newly added funds, KleinLife will continue to grow its Home Delivered Meals program for seniors confined to their homes during the pandemic.

Before this public health crisis, KleinLife served over 250 seniors, 5 days a week through their congregate meal program and offered similar meals to 500 homebound seniors every week through its Home Delivered Meals program. After being forced to close its center to the public due to the statewide stay-at-home order, KleinLife saw a rapid increase in the number of seniors requesting home-delivered meals: today, KleinLife delivers up to 15 frozen, prepared meals every week to 625 seniors. Their all-hands-on-deck approach to meal delivery utilizes their key staff and over 40 volunteers to pack and deliver meals weekly.

“What makes me most proud of our services,” said Andre Krug, CEO of KleinLife, “is our ability to balance our seniors’ physical needs with their comfort in this trying time. With support from the PHL COVID-19 Fund, we’ll be able to continue to do what we do best.”
